    FTC revised guidelines for disclosure: toothless or cumbersome?
    Wineries and wine blogs are both affected but the guidelines are a jumble and the FTC has said they have not been getting complaints, they will not fine bloggers (if anything, they would target advertisers), and they are not monitoring blogs. With little fanfare, the FTC released updated guidelines for endorsement disclosure on blogs.

    Il Borro Lamelle Chardonnay 2006 IGT
    The hand harvested grapes are immediately transferred to the winery and sorted manually. The first time I tried this wine in 2009, this Chardonnay from the Ferragamo family's Tuscan vineyards, Il Borro had a pale yellow color. now after a few years in cellar it's a deeper golden. Finishes long but smoothly.

    Marques De Riscal Tempranillo Reserva 2005, Rioja Spain
    In 1858 Herederos de Marqués de Riscal became the first winery in the Rioja to produce wines following the Bordeaux method of slow fermentation and careful blending.     Year in Review
    Best Rosé - Every visit I made to a Finger Lakes winery this past year, I tasted a dry Rosé, brought quite a few home and enjoyed each and every one. hope to be tasting some new varieties, visiting more wineries and just enjoying more great wine. I guess saying that 2011 was not as eventful as 2010 would be understating it a little.

    The evening was filled with a presentation in the tasting room of the Gerard Bertrand winery, where energetic young winemaker Jean-Baptiste led a tutored tasting of the company’s many wines.
