The Van Volxem riesling fro the Saar was a big hit. By the time the grilled beef bulgoki came out, so did Bonny Doon Le Pousseur syrah and the Ridge Lytton Springs zinfandel. had chosen these on the “palate cleanser&# end of things but the syrah seemed overshadowed while the zin was impressive and quite popular. Riesling, Riesling and more Riesling was why I was visiting on this day and there was no shortage of good Rieslings, starting with a nice dry 2007 at Zugibe Vineyards. The NV Cuvee Blanc was a bit disappointing, but I found the 2010 Riesling to be very nice. Then again, 2010 was a very good year for the FLX Rieslings and Finger Lakes white wines, but today I was interested in the red wines offered by Anyela's especially their 2008 Cab Franc. So much so, at half time of game, I got on-line and ordered more Atwater Cab-Merlot and Syrah. Sometimes when you least expect it, you open what may becomes your new favorite bottle of wine.
