SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10, 2009 2005 Ch. Latour a Pomerol I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I haven't been overly impressed with the 2005 Bordeaux I've tasted to date. At least one wine I tasted was clearly flawed; most of the others were just boring. Then I got this email the other day from America's Wine Shop , advertising the 2005 Latour a Pomerol for $35. SLAKED | TUESDAY, MARCH 4, 2008 2005 Ch. St. Jean de Lavaud [1.1] Lalande de Pomerol The best Lalande de Pomerol I have ever tasted, and maybe a perfect wine for this region. Plum purple. Raspberry leaf, musk, and lush flowers on the nose. Good burnt wood note, black licorice, strawberry and raspberry jam. Medium body with a dry, crushed raspberry finish and dusty tannin.
