Those are: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot & Malbec. While the Goose Bay Pinot Noir is a very nice Pinot Noir made much like the Galil Pinot in an elegant, old world style. | | WINE TASTING GUY APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts My favorite was the 2007 Pinon Vouvray Silex Noir which had a crisp nose with ripe tropical fruit and great fruit & acidity on the palate. tasted 6 wines at this table, all made from Pinot Noir. At a wholesale price of about $150/bottle the 2005 Gemstone Cabernet (blended with 6% Petit Verdot) was another BIG NAPA CAB. | WINE TASTING GUY MARCH 25, 2008 Skurnik Tasting - my favorites (finally) also found their '06 Estate "Scallop Shelf" Pinot Noir to be one of the more subtle & elegant Pinots will nice minerality and earthiness and a very nice finish. The 2003 "1er Etage" Cab Franc was blended with 2% Petit Verdot and had very subtle green notes but was was nice as well. Great stuff. | | | | | | | | | -

BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, 2007 WBW 34 - Washington State Cabernet learned several years ago that I enjoy Pinot Noir from Oregon, and that there are a few producers who make great wines at fair prices, prices that rival what I would spend for a bottle of Burgundy of similar quality (if not similar style). Probably because Cabernet based wines and Syrahs are not my passion. Dark purple and inky. MORE >>
