Palomino is the dominant grape grown in Jerez, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa Maria. don't know, but I doubt that these grapes are low acid grapes like Palomino. I've always appreciated that about Sherry, particularly Finos and Manzanillas, the bright acidity that enlivens the oxidized wine. And no! Peter agreed. Anyway.At

July Wines - a Laundry List
It comes from an old solera at Bodega Perez Barquero in Montilla-Moriles, further inland than Jerez and a place where Pedro Ximenez is used to make Sherry, not Palomino. This is what we drank with the pasta and artichokes in the previous post, and it was a shockingly good pairing with the pungent dish. Fantastic wine and worth searching out.

The Flor - Amontillado Continuum
This is made from Palomino grapes grown in the upper portion of the great Marchenudo vineyard. In the past week I had the opportunity to drink several Amontillado Sherries. That's because I've been hanging out with Peter Liem and he likes to drink Sherry a lot. Peter said that it is, in fact, a continuum. mean seriously, people.
