    With the Chorizo-crusted cod the Chard also ruled, though some liked the SB and even the newer introduction of the Cupcake Shiraz, very fresh and light in expression. The Thomas Farm Rack of Lamb was presented with the Cupcake Malbec and Cupcake Red Velvet (a blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot).

    Some good food, good golf and -from Sam's Club- some good wine and we were ready for autumn in New York. Also, it is used in Australia to sometimes blend with Shiraz which I have tried one or two and if done right is very enjoyable. I have been away for a bit. Sorry ‘bout that.     One coolest thing about life in New York City is central park. Man, I love New York! It starts out with primarily shiraz (syrah) and a good amount of the South African original, pinotage, a viticultural cross of Cinsaut and Pinot Noir created in the 1920's. It is huge. But the best part is Sheep's Meadow. No prob.

    Runnin' To The Mailbox For Ventana Syrah
    It didn't look like a dark syrupy shiraz from Australia and it didn't have the clear vibrancy of a Rhone. am not sure if it was new oak or not but I do know that the pamphlet that accompanied the wines said they use Minnesota oak. As I mentioned in the beginning of this lengthy post I did a search and cannot find it in New York.
