WHY WINE: Joeshico Wine Review; La Corte Salice Salentino 2006
The dominant grape is the Negroamaro which has been planted in the region for centuries. The wine is a blend of 80% - 85% Negroamaro and 15% - 20% Malvasia Nero. I'm not going to rate this wine, as I really don't think I'm qualified to do so. I just sat down and opened a wine that I have not had in quite some time.

    Tormaresca Masseria Maime Negroamaro IGT
From the Salento IGT in Puglia, Italy comes this 100% Negroamaro aged 14 months in oak barriques and rated 90 points for the 2004 by Wine Enthusiast and a Tre Bicchieri for the 2005. At the NY Tre Bicchieri event yesterday I had the chance to buzz through the event fairly quickly, so my tasting notes are short and sweet.
