Our visits overlapped, and so along with a few of his friends, we met for dinner at the excellent restaurant called Three Doors Down. Brooklynlady and I left the little daughter with her grandparents in San Diego and went to Portland for two days and one night. When you dine with Peter Liem you can expect to drink good Champagne. It is a wine that is readily available at Italian restaurants all over the city but until recently had often been looked over. Nobody took it very seriously because they were just sipping it, biding their time waiting for the noble Nebbiolo to be ready. Aglianico was the wine that made this wine geek a wine geek.
