Tsantali Wines Hosts U.S. Presentation
Do you like Greek wines? do … they come in a variety of styles and price points and pair well with a wide variety of food. Typically they are also a very good value for the money, especially when it comes to reserve wines where you can still get a 1997 red with full development for just over $20.

Wine and Cheese - Hudson Red with Chidaine Montlouis
There are some great cheeses produced in New York and Vermont. One of my new favorites is a raw milk washed rind cheese called Hudson Red, made by Twin Maple Farms Creamery and distributed by the ersatz coop Pampered Cow Cheese. Hudson Red is not the stinkiest of washed rind cheeses, but it's not tame.

Wine and Cheese - Le Welsche and Gewurztraminer
understand Gewurztraminer, like Muscat, the way they relate to the other white Alsace grapes. In general, Gewurztraminer and Muscat make aromatic wines, whereas Riesling and Sylvaner are more mineral, and Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are more about fresh fruit. I'm one of those weirdos who likes Gewurztraminer.

Some people brought in bottles from trips to wineries in New York and California, and others were looking to try something out on us before pouring it at Thanksgiving. Finally, we tried a “white muscat from the red stone, which sounded to me as if it will be the next Indiana Jones movie. It is an assignment! Good times!

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2006 Weekend Wines and Eats II
On Saturday night we had a few friends over for dinner and I decided to try out a few new drinks from our bar. This is a wine I tasted and described a little while ago at Vintage NY, a store where you can taste New York wines. Some darn good eatin' and drinkin' this weekend, yeah. For $14, what more can you ask?
