Sangiovese Monterey - New York Wine

SLAKED APRIL 30, 2009 Bonny Doon Tasting at City Winery From Monterey, this was aged in 25% new wood, and was my favorite wine of the night. Those looking for a sangiovese from America should look for this instead. It's hard not to want to admire Randall Grahm -- irreverent, whimsical, just enough out there without being too far gone. The Sangiovese and the canaiolo give the wine a subtle power and the merlot softens and rounds it off making this a smooth medium to full body wine. So the Alphabet City Wine Co.
