| Page 1 of 1 | Previous | Next | SLAKED APRIL 3, 2009 Ridge Vineyards Z-List Spring Shipment We tasted these wines blind over the past five nights, with a 2004 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon thrown in to mix things up. 55% zinfandel, 22% carignane, 18% petite sirah, and 2% mataro, aged in 12% new American oak (the balance 1-5 years old) the Geyserville is from the western edge of Alexander Valley. | | WINE TASTING GUY MAY 5, 2008 NorCal day 2: Sonoma stayed in a northern part of Napa known as Calistoga and made my way North West to Sonoma county. Maybe he simply lacked personality. Ahhhh. | WINE TASTING GUY MAY 4, 2008 Day in Napa Connie & I worked together at Napa Wine Company where she was easily one of my favorite people. We started the visit with a white as I tried what I was told the only Albarino from Napa (or maybe it was the first?). We had some Merlot & Cab from both a regular series and a reserve one. WINE TASTING GUY | TUESDAY, MARCH 25, 2008 Skurnik Tasting - my favorites (finally) Lang & Reed Napa Winery was represented by the husband and wife team who make the wines and they were great. The 2003 "1er Etage" Cab Franc was blended with 2% Petit Verdot and had very subtle green notes but was was nice as well. Next was a wine from Etude Wines in Carneros, which runs South of both Napa & Sonoma counties. MORE >>
