BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2011 Jenny and François, Spring 2011 Lassaigne uses a code that is stamped onto his labels, and you really have to look for it because it's hard to see, but 070409, for example, means bottled in 07 (so base year 06), and disgorged in 09 (in April, I believe). BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2011 A Trend Toward Single-Vineyard Wine in Champagne? It is called Vallée de la Marne Rive Gauche, and Bérèche's intentions are clearly announced on the wine's label, as the place of origin is far more prominent than the family name. The back label, by the way, contains information on the vineyard, disgorgement date, and everything else that we might want to know. -

WHY WINE BLOG | SUNDAY, JANUARY 2, 2011 Year In Review I'm usually wary when wineries give their wines a funky or even classical type name instead of just labeling it 'meritage.'
