[Jerusalem] A Night At The Historic King David Hotel: #GoIsrael
For many people, Jerusalem represents the chance to a chance to view the Old City where historical biblical characters lived and where today’s new generation continue on the work of their fathers and grandfathers. Jerusalem is an exciting city, yet it is also a busy city, and it is such a pleasure to see all the important historical sites knowing full well you will be able to take a nap in a very comfortable bed, take a scented bath, and otherwise really relax from a day of sightseeing.

[Jerusalem] Visiting Chef Moshe Bason of Eucalpytus Restaurant on #GoIsrael
“I was born into a Tahini making family,” said Iraqi born Moshe Bason, owner of “Eucalyptus” restaurant in the old city of Jerusalem. And I also never really wondered much about the way it was produced, until later in the day Moshe took us into a tahini production “factory” in the old city of Jerusalem, right in the middle of the city. We are gathered in his modern looking restaurants near the gates of the city.

[Jerusalem] Dinner of the Year, 2012 (Stockholm)
Very lean, it was served with Jerusalem artichokes and topped with fresh juniper berries. I recently had the occasion to be in Stockholm, Sweden (!), a trip for work. The whole trip was amazing, but I want to tell you about one meal I had there, what easily for me is the dinner of the year in 2012. What made it so good? Well, the company, for starters. I work with really nice people. And the wine.

    [Jerusalem] Louis/Dressner Report
Piccade--the latter was filled with clove tobacco, jerusalem artichoke. I know any second I'll hear from Sheila, where's that report? After all, didn't Joe bribe me with a bottle and a twenty dollar bill.and a metro card? (I I sell myself cheap) Panevino IGT Isola dei Nuraghi Rhosso Ogu & the Piccade 2007 Loved both of these. Not sure if they're both cannonau, but it seemed so. gorgeous texture. Domaine de Souch Jurancon Sec Tangy, deep and very apple. Chamber's Street Wines David (L.)

    [Jerusalem] Katlav Winery
Yesterday I traveled with some friends and the special lady through the Jerusalem Hills. I apologize for my extended absence, but I’M IN ISRAEL!!!! I’ve been here for about a week and making time to post is (sadly) not on the top of my priority list. We did a couple of short & beautifully scenic hikes, and [.].

    [Jerusalem] Jell-O
Jerusalem Artichoke. I was about to sit down and remember some of the wonderful, adventurous, lively and pensive and laughing and crazy and funny and charming and shy and extroverted maniac wines I had the other week at Angers when Fed Ex knocked at the door and broke my stride. I've been good natured about mostly neglecting to review unbidden samples. Instead of spending energy knocking the ones that upset me, I pawn them off on unsuspecting neighbors.

[Jerusalem] Has the Paris Wine Bar Scene Gone Stodgy?
I opted for the 11 euro Jerusalem artichoke soup, without the pancetta but with a swirl of pine colored olive oil and spiral of sesame seeds. All things must come to an end, progress, move on, evolve. And it is understandable that the vigorous wine bar scene that flourished in this city of Paris for ten years have become more established and with the press, aggrandized and with that comes the inevitable; the sedation of the revolutionary spirit and the increase of prices.

    [Jerusalem] Blending Wines.
I was in Jerusalem for the last day and made my way upon the holiday's completion from Jerusalem to a winery near Sederot. Has it only been a week? Time does fly when you are having fun, but I have been doing SO MUCH running around that I can't believe I have only been in Israel for 1 week so far (OK, 9 days). I have 6 days left, but I know that will fly.

[Jerusalem] Wine expert - what are the qualifications??
That said a travesty took place in Israel today when 2 terrorists infiltrated a Jerusalem Yeshiva (school for Judaic studies) and opened fire - killing 8 and injuring scores of others. I attended a wine event this evening. It was a charitable event featuring Israeli wines - my passion as those of you who have been reading for a while know. I know one of the organizers and asked if he wanted my assistance.
