    BREAKING: Korean feast not impossible with wine!
    Not intimidated by the Herculean challenge of pairing wine and Korean food , I selected a range of wines for a Korean new year feast last week. poured the aromatic whites and the Hermann J. Wiemer pleasantly surprised people who were programmed not to like either gewurztraminer or New York wines.

    Champagne Notes from the Martin Scott Portfolio
    I had the distinct pleasure of going to the Martin Scott Portfolio Tasting last week at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center. tried a new rating system this time, scoring wines out of 10 points and writing only the briefest of notes in order to speed myself up. cannot enjoy myself that way. Also very good. What a nose!

    Weekend Wines and Eats II
    On Saturday night we had a few friends over for dinner and I decided to try out a few new drinks from our bar. We opened a bottle of 2005 Hermann J. This is a wine I tasted and described a little while ago at Vintage NY, a store where you can taste New York wines. Some darn good eatin' and drinkin' this weekend, yeah.

    Some New York Wines
    So now I know that Long Island makes serious wine.what about the rest of New York? Vintage is a wine store that sells only New York wines, and also some fancy foods. 2005 Hermann J. All in all - New York wine = YES! In fact, we were genuinely surprised by how much we liked some of the wine. violets?
