NOVEMBER 17, 2006 [Granache] Hooray For Vacqueyras!
I looked a little closer and saw "granache" (sigh of relief). The computer said one hundred percent granache but after tasting it there might some syrah and a little mouverde in there. I am on a brief French wine kick right now.
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK [Granache] Gary Vaynerchuk and the Vaniacs!
| WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2006
He always likes to keep his shows surrounding a theme whether it is the best wines for thanksgiving or a line of granache
from different parts of the world (one of my recent favorites). My thirst for wine knowledge is never completely quenched. And honestly I don't attempt to quench it. I just allow my geekiness to bring me form one wine to the next with an open mind. MORE >>
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK [Granache] Fada!
| WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2006
It smoothed out the rough edges of the syrah and granache
wonderfully. All I have to say is Fada. This little French bistro in Williamsburg (I put the link in the title of this post) on North 8th and Driggs is absolutely awesome! My wife and I were on our way to see a performance piece and wanted to have dinner in the area so we could just mosey on over afterwards. I was in the mood for some French food and especially some French wine. MORE >>
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK [Granache] Vive la France au-dessous des dollars tenty!
| SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2006
I love the grapes in the area (syrah, granache
, cinsaut and mouverde) and I wanted to dig through there first. It is time for me to re focus. I have been all over the place with these posts. I have gone from the highest end to the lowest end starting with the long post about Stag's Leap and ending with my third installment of the Trader Joe's experiment. I must admit I have strayed a bit from the everyday twenty dollars and under values. MORE >>
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK [Granache] Tasing Provence and The Loire
| FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2006
The producers name is Chateau Rouet and it was a blend of 60% granache
and 40% syrah and had a beautiful pink color and a wacky curvaceous bottle. So it was time to explore France via the east village. One night last week Gal, Mr. Wolf and myself popped two bottles of French wine. First up was a rose form Provence. It was also a reserve (for rose.pretty cool). Next was a bottle of 1990 chinon 100% cab franc from the Loire region of France. MORE >>
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE [Granache] Rose Water
| MONDAY, JANUARY 8, 2007
This Saturday night I had a glass of white Granache
from the Languedoc - I cannot remember the producer. Maybe I'm too picky, but there just aren't that many high-end restaurants that appeal to me these days. High-end to me, by the way, means more than $100 for two people with appetizers and wine, maybe a dessert. Often the food is too fussy and sacrifices flavor and aroma for presentation and length of ingredient list. Or the food is too bland, too salty, or improperly cooked. MORE >>
