Very cool idea -- Israreli sparkling wine! Produced in the classic Champagne method, it is aged for a minimum of one year in the bottle on the tirage yeast. News gilgal israeli sparkling wine | WINE TASTING GUY NOVEMBER 18, 2008 Good times for Israel wines First it was the extensive tasting of Israeli wines by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate ("Israeli wine isn't an oddity any more, and it is certainly not just for those who keep kosher"). The Golan Heights winery's Yarden 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon came in at 91. Happy Israeli wine tasting! How cool is that! | | | | | | | WINE TASTING GUY OCTOBER 26, 2008 Wine starts in the Vineyard - Golan Heights Winery Made a trip back up to the Golan Heights today. Once again, feeling like a VIP (I think I can get used to this) I was taken on a private tour of some vineyards and given a tasting of selected wines. Starting with the whites I was quite impressed by the quality of the entry level 2007 Golan Sion Creek White. | WINE TASTING GUY OCTOBER 23, 2008 Golan day, tanks, and NYC kosher crush Spent the day in and around the Golan Heights today. Have a great weekend & Happy wine tasting! | WINE TASTING GUY OCTOBER 21, 2008 Blending Wines. I'm headed up North tomorrow to the Galil region which includes the highly regarded Galil & Golan Heights viticultural sections. Once again trusty Wine Tasting Guy told them that many Bordeaux (generally Right Bank) have a majority Merlot. Has it only been a week? I have 6 days left, but I know that will fly. Neither stuck, but how cool is that?! | | | | | | | | | -
WINE TASTING GUY | SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2008 Wines for the New (Jewish) Year UNDER $30 The last Israeli wine I want to mention is a wine I recently tried for the first time, the Golan Cabernet Sauvignon. The Golan Cab was featured by wine writer Howard Goldberg in the NY Times in August , and as it turns out is a damn good wine. Happy Holiday Wine Tasting! I'm sorry for the delay in writing this post. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2008 Misinformed - what to do with a bad wine educator? I attended an Israeli wine tasting at a local cultural center earlier this week. Among the instructor's opening statements was a proclamation that the Israeli wine industry took a major step forward with the introduction of the Golan Heights Winery 15 years ago (it was more like 25 years ago). Happy accurately led wine tasting! MORE >> -

The first I will start with is one that helped a financially challenged Wine Tasting Guy get through many a Jewish holiday. The last wine I want to bring up in this category comes from the Golan Heights Winery, famous for its Yarden wines. The first price point you may ask about is the UNDER $10 range. The Dalton Canaan Red. MORE >>
