The Inniskillin winery itself was created in 1975 by Donald Ziraldo and Karl Kaiser, across the street on 32 acres of Riesling, Chardonnay, and Gamay. But now that its $75 + a bottle, I havent tasted it in quite a while. Im sure its big and bold and dense but perhaps still safe from new oak and does not have a marketer or an advertising budget so I assume the tasting group at WS really did like it. it was the wine that they all agreed on at a tasting! Nothing more than round wheatmeal biscuits, but they taste so good. simple country wine, a Gamay from the Côte Roannaise, and it was delicious.
