FINALLY! | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE MARCH 27, 2007 Notes From the Dressner Real Wine Attack Tasting My 5's 2004 Eric Texier Cote-Rotie , $62 - This Northern Rhone Syrah was lighter than his other reds, incredibly intense nose of roasted meat and herbs, olives and soil. 100% Syrah from the resurrected Brezeme vineyard, this is light in color, but intense with plums, herbs, and tar, and really well balanced with nice acidity and low alcohol. | | | | | | | | | -

EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2006 Fada! The grapes grown here are Grenache, syrah, mouverde and cinsaut. The Vacqueyras we had was a blend of Syrah mostly and grenache and surprisingly some gamay according to the owner. Upon my initial sip I could see why the Gamay was in there. It smoothed out the rough edges of the syrah and granache wonderfully. MORE >> -
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | FRIDAY, MAY 25, 2007 Frisbees and Snacks and Wine OH My!! : Part I It starts out with primarily shiraz ( syrah) and a good amount of the South African original, pinotage, a viticultural cross of Cinsaut and Pinot Noir created in the 1920's. After that add a little Grenache and some merlot and round it off with small percentages of Gamay (really?) It is huge. But the best part is Sheep's Meadow. Cheer MORE >> -
