The grapes grown here are Grenache, syrah, mouverde and cinsaut. love this part of France and these are some of my favorite grapes. The Vacqueyras we had was a blend of Syrah mostly and grenache and surprisingly some gamay according to the owner. Upon my initial sip I could see why the Gamay was in there. MORE >>

It is one of the most popular wines in France, normally made from Gamay grapes and fermented for just a few weeks then officially released for sale on the third Wednesday of November.
