SEPTEMBER 5, 2012 Sobering: wine shipping map
In the comments of our recent discussion of the rosé drought that was gripping the Hamptons , a commenter said that the easy answer was to have the wine shipped in (via Gulfstream jet, natch). But, seriously, couldn’t they order wine from an out-of-state retailer and have it sent via UPS?

Would they be too sweet (even though the labels on most of the samples clearly say dry). And then what of the labels that say semi-dry? How much sugar per litre? A WINE STORY Experiencing Seven of Hearts
| SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2012
So we were at the Wine Bloggers Conference and are so appreciative to have visited all the different regions as part of various dinners, pre-trips, and post-trips. After the conference, Seven of Hearts (based in McMinnville, Oregon) sent me several wines to try and here I will discuss my three favorites. So I really enjoyed the 2010 Chatte d'Avignon, a Rhone style wine made from Grenache/Syrah/Mouvedre. MORE >>
WHY WINE BLOG Matua Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011
| TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2012
This past weekend Shirley cooked up some of her BBQ pork ribs for a quick dinner. Normally I would like a nice Pinot Noir or Cab Franc with her ribs, but it was a very warm day and I just returned from a local wine shop with a Sauvignon Blanc I was anxious to try, A Matua Valley Marlborough 2011 ( $11 ) Founded in 1974, Matua Valley was the first New Zealand winery to produce Sauvignon Blanc, establishing them as innovators and pioneers of New Zealand viticulture.
