Definitely a good party wine. Released in May with a suggested retail of $24, but you can shop and find on-line for as low as $17. Last March I posted a press release on a new collection of artisan wines in an innovative attractive new package. The Chardonnay was not impressive. Only problem - you won't find Poulsard at the local Wine Superstore, you may not even find it at your favorite little shop. I've recently emerged from a bit of a "red wine stand-still." This is a village with one tabac, a church, a bakery, a café, and a butcher/meat shop - the bare essentials for a French village, from what I can tell. Definitely wound up, not revealing all of itself, and not at all settled, but gorgeous. The village of Savennières is a very small place. Why the outsider status? There are two cuvées. MORE >>
