Now the New York Times jumps into the pool with the announcement yesterday that they will be starting the New York Times Wine Club. The press release states “The New York Times Wine Club is operated independently of The Times’s critics or other members of the news department.&# MORE >>

The NYT reports on a new ad campaign from Blackstone, a Constellation wine brand, that is emphasizing “trust.&# “We’re so sure you’ll enjoy the taste of Blackstone wines that if you don’t, we’ll pay you back,” the ads declare and even include a “ money back guarantee “! At least one New York City retailer also calls the $16 wine Biodynamic, a process of grape growing (and, to a lesser extent, winemaking) that goes beyond organic to synchronize some winemaking practices with the lunar cycle.
