As we sat down I took out the wine I brought along, the 2008 Pierre Gonon St Joseph Blanc Les Oliviers , $32, Fruit of the Vines Imports. We agreed that it smelled, tasted, and really felt like Chenin Blanc - an old Montlouis, Levi said. MORE >> -
DR. VINO | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 2, 2010 Do you want alcohol levels in reviews? [poll] & a comment from Joly Last week’s New York Times reviewed some wines from Savennières, the Loire appellation that makes often-stunning, always dry versions of chenin blanc. When has the chenin completed its work is then the question? Would you like to see more reviewers noting alcohol levels? Have your say in the latest poll! MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, JANUARY 26, 2010 Wine and Cheese - Hudson Red with Chidaine Montlouis There are some great cheeses produced in New York and Vermont. One of my new favorites is a raw milk washed rind cheese called Hudson Red, made by Twin Maple Farms Creamery and distributed by the ersatz coop Pampered Cow Cheese. Hudson Red is not the stinkiest of washed rind cheeses, but it's not tame. MORE >>
