Once upon a time I owned six Riedel red Burgundy glasses, the Vinum series. | DR. VINO JULY 28, 2009 Lots on labels – but not on American wines In discovery, it was found that the lost wine had 20% Chenin Blanc purchased at wholesale at a price way below what labeled grape would have cost. But I couldn’t help thinking that if those were my only two local wine shops that I’d favor Trader Joe’s in a pinch. On a trip this past summer, my family and I got stranded in Chicago overnight because of airline delays. MORE >> -
DR. VINO | MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 2009 Screwcaps, scores, riesling, the Loire, Cali cab: John Gilman part two The strides made with dry rieslings by producers such as Klaus-Peter Keller and the like are helping the wines get a bit more of a hearing in Germany these days, but the traditional, off-dry styles are still wandering in the dessert looking for a fan base. German Riesling. And I really don’t understand why. just don’t get it. The Loire. MORE >>
