SLAKED | FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 Mini-Retrospective 2000 Corison Winery Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon I didn't figure this would (or could) be any better than the 1997 ( previously reviewed ). I remember the 2000 vintage as a whirlwind of excitement. This was before the Tech Bubble Burst, Enron imploded, 9/11, and eight years of Bush Part Deux. At the time, bridges were literally for sale. -

SLAKED | TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2008 California Cult Wine Release Schedule You'll notice that a number of wineries are listed throughout the year. This is because most wineries that release four or more wines do so at intervals. Most of the cults aren't even bottled yet when they are purchased as futures, and this fact might give you the "blues." You aren't alone. Release schedules vary from year to year. -

WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2008 Carmel's quality wine revolution Among the many things I must do is to better acquaint myself with one of Israel's oldest wineries - Carmel. Well guess what folks, quietly the Carmel people have made HUGE advances in the vineyards, winery & their resulting products. YES, that Carmel, of the sweet, thick sacramental wine. Neither stuck, but how cool is that?! -
SLAKED | THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2008 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Artemis" 2006 and "Karia" 2006 tasted the Artemis cabernet sauvignon and Karia chardonnay only briefly. and Fay, in my opinion, but lacked the spice nuance, and I thought it was the winery's attempt to follow the cult crew in producing a chocolately rich cabernet for immediate consumption. The 2004 S.L.V. and Fay Vineyard wines are deep and rich with mild spices. -
EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2008 CHARDONNAY: A STUDY IN WHAT WENT WRONG when Hanzell Vineyards imported new French oak barrels, wineries mimicked the way wine was made in Chardonnay's old home of Burgundy. The nasty over oaked buttery Chardonnay that people are shunning these days is the style we must begin with. Chardonnay came to California in the 1930's but wasn't thought about much. -
ALICE FEIRING | THURSDAY, AUGUST 21, 2008 Alice Feiring - In Vino Veritas Here is the cut and paste from the wineries website.
