WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2008 Carmel's quality wine revolution The 2007 Carmel Ridge White, a blend of sauvignon blanc (50%), Chardonnay (20%), semillion (15%) & french Colombard (15%) had a hint of effervescence to go along with its crisp acidity & pink grapefruit characteristics. Among the many things I must do is to better acquaint myself with one of Israel's oldest wineries - Carmel. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | TUESDAY, MAY 20, 2008 Toast of the Town - NYC The 2006 Viognier was nice and crisp with fresh floral accents. The 2006 Ashley's vineyard Chardonnay had nice tropical fruit, subtle oak & great structure. Wine Enthusiast magazine put on their "Toast of the Town" wine & food event yesterday in NYC at Lincoln Center. But it wasn't all perfect. Very well done! MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | FRIDAY, JANUARY 25, 2008 Wine Australia Festival - wrap up We were tasting wines at the Grant Burge area when the winemaker encouraged us to go check out his "Meshach" Shiraz up in the VIP area. Yesterday, January 24th, jet lagged and feeling a bit under the weather, I attended the Wine Australia Festival in NY's Wall St Cipriani. just to name a few. Didn't work well. But I digress. EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 29, 2007 Gettin' A little Chile in South Carolina In Chile he has an interesting selection of wines ranging from the cabernet and carmenere to gewürztraminer and viognier. And the viognier is the one I would like to talk about. don't know much about viognier other than it is native to the Rhone area of France and became popular for a minute in the US and then dropped off a bit.
