started with a white blend of 50% Semillon & 50% chardonnay that I really enjoyed. Oily" is used to describe the texture or body of a wine and is commonly associated with Semillon - which may be why I used that descriptor (another benefit to blind tasting). began in a French table area and tried some Sancerres (made from Sauvignon Blanc), some white Burgundys (made from Chardonnay) and some white blends. Here are some notes (including some I didn't like): Sparkling NV Lassaigne Brut Blanc de Blancs - yup, still delicious. 2007 Haut la Vigne Côtes de Duras - 50-50 chardonnay and semillon.
