VINO DECEMBER 26, 2008 The best box wines of 2008 This big blend of grenache, syrah and carignan, has that ripe, juicy quality from many of the wines of the region. Standing tall. | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE FEBRUARY 2, 2012 Tidbits It was a red fruit mash at first - I would have guessed a Grenache heavy wine from further south had I tasted it blind. SLAKED | THURSDAY, JUNE 4, 2009 Pax is Back. And This Time It's Personal When the time came, I found myself still buying a couple bottles of one of my favorite Pax Cellars Wine, the Kobler Family Vineyard Russian River Valley Syrah, thinking it would be the last time. SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2009 2008 Monte Bello Futures Tasting The 2007 Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay (which recently received 93 points from Wine Spectator) is lightly steely with minor tropical fruit and strawberry-bubblegum notes. The Chardonnay, the 2007 Aragus Campo de Borja was unoaked and had a very lite yellow/straw color. But I found out today. MORE >> -

He wants his wines to show a nice purity of fruit ( Chardonnay) and as such uses large 600 liter (mostly neutral) barrels. Made from Chardonnay, this wine had an exploding bouquet. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, MARCH 27, 2007 Notes From the Dressner Real Wine Attack Tasting My 5's 2004 Eric Texier Cote-Rotie , $62 - This Northern Rhone Syrah was lighter than his other reds, incredibly intense nose of roasted meat and herbs, olives and soil. 100% Syrah from the resurrected Brezeme vineyard, this is light in color, but intense with plums, herbs, and tar, and really well balanced with nice acidity and low alcohol.
