As to Chardonnay, or white burgundies, I enjoy a good chardonnay, but don't seek them out. In addition to the Burgundies I had a very nice Chat du Pape, an excellent Super Tuscan, and what may have been my favorite of the tasting, a Cote Rotie. | | | | | | | | WINE TASTING GUY APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts began in a French table area and tried some Sancerres (made from Sauvignon Blanc), some white Burgundys (made from Chardonnay) and some white blends. He wants his wines to show a nice purity of fruit (Chardonnay) and as such uses large 600 liter (mostly neutral) barrels. Made from Chardonnay, this wine had an exploding bouquet. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE MARCH 27, 2007 Notes From the Dressner Real Wine Attack Tasting Also, the vignerons poured not only their entry level wines, but their top wines, and this provided the opportunity to taste a $62 Cote Rotie without actually buying it, which is much appreciated if you are in my tax bracket and you want to sample the wares before investing. hauled my butt into Manhattan (!) Impossible in this venue. | |
