VIGNA UVA VINO | TUESDAY, APRIL 20, 2010 Cameron Hughes Wines Here are some of my quick tasting notes: Lot 108 Napa Valley Chardonnay 2007 $14 Apple, pineapple, lemon rind and pear aromas with lemon verbena and grapefruit on a creamy fresh finish. Lot 135 Central Coast Syrah 2007 $12 Animal, bright fruits, dark berries, strawberries, red licorice. To me they were all great value wines. MORE >> -
SLAKED | TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2010 Antica Terra, Botanica, and Lillian Tasted alongside other wines of the vintage, it clearly stands head and shoulders above the rest. VIGNA UVA VINO | THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2009 Hahn Estates Meritage Central Coast 2006 Tried this at a tasting at The Wine Room of Forest Hills last weekend From Monterey, California, a Meritage is a Bordeaux style blend using Cabernet and Merlot. this one also has Petit Verdot and Malbec in the mix. When the bill came our lovely bottle of 2005 Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir , $33 ($18 in a store?) Worth reading, although I warn you - you may feel compelled to visit Burgundy afterwards.
