tasted some nice Chardonnays by Foxglove/ Varner Wines , L'Angevin , DuMol and Neiman cellars. had a Bordeaux Blanc made by Arietta called the "Arietta White Wine on White Keys 2006" that was a blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon and had an interesting breadiness with some melon & pineapple aromas. don't know. great wine. 3" is a wine that I would not necessarily seek out to buy for my cellar, but I would gladly drink anytime. 2006 Shinn Estate Vineyards First Fruit Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon , $23. The blend with Semillon (4%) and that this wine sees oak seems to indicate that Shinn is going for a white Bordeaux style wine. already like them. MORE >>

Sauvignon Blanc - a Mini Blind Tasting

Like the Cheverny, Bordeaux blanc wines tend to be blended, in this case with Semillon. The 2006 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Rancho Chimiles (about $27, unsure about availability) did not show well in the blind tasting, getting only 1 third place vote. That's a fun thing to do on a summer evening though, so no complaints. MORE >>
