SLAKED | FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2009 Ridge Vineyards Z-List Spring Shipment 55% zinfandel, 22% carignane, 18% petite sirah, and 2% mataro, aged in 12% new American oak (the balance 1-5 years old) the Geyserville is from the western edge of Alexander Valley. From 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 4% Petite Verdot,5 % Cabernet Franc.,5% But the predominant note on day 1 was the vanilla. MORE >> -

WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008 Kosher Wine Extravaganza - Unusual (but gooood) wines No, not the Petit Sirah/Zin blend - another people know is a favorite of mine. was told that the blend was an UNUSUAL one - containing Petit Verdot, Shiraz & Petit Sirah. Further research has revealed that the wine may in fact be a blend of Petit Verdot (10%), Shiraz (10%) and Merlot (80%). Worth a shot! MORE >> -

So I've been drinking a lot of Ridge Vineyards recently, and frankly, it's starting to get a little difficult to tell one zin from the next. But there are differences, subtle, but they're there.
