Made a trip back up to the Golan Heights today. I even got to take a trip up a row of vines on a mechanical harvester. | WINE TASTING GUY OCTOBER 18, 2008 What a Day! 2 Wine Tastings!! I went away (within Israel) for the sabbath to a friend of the family. It actually reminded me a bit of a California Zinfandel. After the Sabbath I drove into Tel Aviv to meet up with a friend who I may work with on my Israel Wine Project. Traditionally, this often includes cake , crackers , and fish." Emillion Grand Cru. | | | | | | | WINE TASTING GUY SEPTEMBER 15, 2008 Trump event & Rally to STOP IRAN We poured some amazing wines from Israel and California and the guests LOVED THE WINES. I will be there and hope that anyone within driving distance of NYC understands how serious this evil man is about his intentions to "wipe Israel from the map" and will put the effort in to attend the rally. rally flier. | WINE TASTING GUY AUGUST 9, 2008 Subtle differences in wine San Fransisco Chronicle article about Italian varietals in California (I have had some amazing Napa Sangiovese). While traveling in Northern California a few months ago I found many of the Cabernet (or cab based blends) wines to have many very similar attributes - almost so much so that their differences became blurry. Of course not. | WINE TASTING GUY JUNE 29, 2008 Less know wine region(s) in the news But any post about Israeli wines will be elaborate and hopefully include some specific news/update describing progress concerning my previously discussed Israel Wine Project. Finally, I have heard many people compare the Mediterranean climate of Israel to that of the Southern Rhone Valley. Happy lesser known wine region wine tasting! | | | | | | | | | | -
WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008 Kosher Wine Extravaganza - Unusual (but gooood) wines could write about the fabulous Israeli Cab or the not so fabulous French Bordeaux, the overrated California red, or awful Israel Merlot (it was BAD) but who cares?!?!! The Kadesh Barnea Winery is located in Southern Israel in the Negev desert. Merlot, Cab, Syrah - been there done that. Well you want unusual, you got it! MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2008 Best bet (kosher) Israeli wines for Passover - at all price ranges. Well regarded throughout Israel, Recanati produces some fine wines. 2002 however was not a great vintage in Israel in general with some strange weather so if you are considering a case to put away for a few years I would stick with the 2003 or 2004. The first price point you may ask about is the UNDER $10 range. The Dalton Canaan Red. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30, 2008 Blind Tasting OK, the title is a little old-man-pun style, and the article was written citing some recent research done by Standford Business School and California Institute of technology (regarding how price influences people's appreciation of wine).but I just enjoyed another article written by Laurie Daniel for the San Jose Mercury News. SORRY! MORE >> -

WINE TASTING GUY | THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2008 Going GREEN with your wine drinking I arrived in Israel a little more than 36 hours ago and I've already begun to run around the country to meet with my wonderful friends in the wine business out here. I'll be heading into the Judean Hills region today but I wanted to put together a real quick post before leaving. Napa Valley wine can emit 2.6 pounds of carbon dioxide in total. MORE >>
