Making my way past the French wines I landed in the California section. But the lure of the reds grabbed me and it was the California reds and people I either knew or recognized who convinced me that white time was up. Also from Merus was their '05 Merus Cab blended with 5% Petit Verdot & Malbec. don't know. great wine.

The word Malbec is being heard more and more these days. At the shop the question is often,"Do you guys have any Malbec?" year ago a bottle popped by a friend at a party from his personal stash turned around my approach to Malbec. This is how I thought malbec was done. This is the malbec we know and love today.

Malbec is our first wine and it comes from Argentina. All of these elements combine to make great malbec. And that is just what this is, a great malbec. I had never seen anything like it. couldn't believe it was true but there it was in front of me. But have you ever heard of Iron Wine? No such luck.
