WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2008 Best bet (kosher) Israeli wines for Passover - at all price ranges. Amazingly enough the Galil Cabernet has gotten so good it even does well with a little age. Both are great (as long as the '05's which have been out for well over a year were stored properly) but the 2006 were rated slightly higher by Israeli wine critic Daniel Rogov. SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2008 2004 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Merlot ** 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ** The merlot was so good I went back and bought a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon. From a notoriously wet spring (which I experienced first hand) through a long mild fall, the many 2005 Napa cabernets I have tasted are all over the place quality-wise. So I kept mum. God forbid.
