SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2009 Ridge Vineyards: Spring/Summer 2009 Update 2005 Buchignani Ranch Zinfandel ** from 44 barrels of 96% zinfandel with 4% carignane from the same "small planting of old-vine zinfandel on the Buchignani Ranch on Dutcher Creek Road in the hills on the far western edge of the Alexander Valley appellation." WINE TASTING GUY | MONDAY, MAY 5, 2008 NorCal day 2: Sonoma Zinfandel is a very common varietal in Sonoma county and I tried 2 Zins at Sausal; the 2004 Family Zinfandel & the 2005 Private reserve Zin. There was also a Merlot, Cab, and then 4 zinfandels. Ridge is a well known Zinfandel producer & upon arrival we were WARMLY greeted by a very nice woman. Serious pretension. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts began in a French table area and tried some Sancerres (made from Sauvignon Blanc), some white Burgundys (made from Chardonnay) and some white blends. Hubery Lamy of Burgundy presented 3 wines. Denis section of Burgundy. Zinfandels and 1 Syrah. This could help to make events of this size more manageable. don't know. MORE >>
