The hills of Champagne, as in Burgundy, are divided into many individually named vineyards, some containing more than one lieu-dit , or named parcel. am certainly not the person you should look to for the latest news in Champagne, but it seems to me as though there is a trend towards single-vineyard wines, particularly among young producers. SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2009 Online Wine Auction Prices Continue to Drop Grand cru Burgundy has also showed significant drops. The trend is erratic, but angling down. Auction prices for premiere cru wines have dropped significantly since the beginning of 2009, but they have not reached 2004 levels. BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16, 2008 Friuli Whites - WBW # 41 also respect the trend towards natural wine making in the region. The flavor profile of these wines is so new to me, and to be honest, I'm not sure if it is a flavor profile that I like as much as that of Loire or Burgundy whites.
