BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2009 Wine of the Week - López de Heredia Viña Cubillo The blend is always the same: 65% Tempranillo, 25% Garnacho (Grenache), and 5% each of Carignan and something called Mazuelo. BrooklynLady thought this was a Burgundy wine when she first smelled and tasted. What do you think of when you think of López de Heredia, the great master of Rioja? BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2007 Deetrane Deep Down in the Cellars of López de Heredia We became fascinated by the numerous small patches of old, gnarly Tempranillo vines, planted right between the endless brick, stucco and concrete winery buildings. Bosconia makes only red Rioja, and is pure Tempranillo. The Burgundy-shaped bottle hints at the style of the wine. Great prices in the shop though. for Crianza, €5.50 MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | FRIDAY, DECEMBER 29, 2006 End of the Year Round Up first tasted this wine, a blend of 55% Tempranillo and 45% Grenache , at Rosewater Restaurant in Park Slope, Brooklyn. It was, in fact, closed down, but even so, this clear dark purple wine exhibited the finesse, depth, mix of clean fruit, forest, and animal flavors and the balance of a fine Burgundy from the Cote de Nuits.
