Remembering to Care About Proper Storage
1983 Servelle-Tachot Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes was simply a delicious wine. There are several interesting things to say about this wine, for example, that it reminded us more of Gevrey in character than of Chambolle, with its earthy red fruit. Not tasted, necessarily, and definitely not aromatically young.

2004 Burgundy Red Wine - How Bad is it?
It is commonly said that 2004 is the worst recent vintage for red wine in Burgundy. As Bill Nanson of Burgundy Report first wrote about , ladybugs were all over the vineyards in 2004. JF Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny. Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny. So, 2004 Burgundy Red Wine - How Bad is it? Vivant.

Wine of the Week - Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges
enjoy pairing this and other dishes like it, with red Burgundy wines. particularly like the way the hoisin character of Chambolle-Musigny works with this kind of food, but I didn't have any in the house. The fruit is dark and smoky, and is infused with a subtle but definite animale character. Georges. Georges.

    A Harmonious Valentine's Dinner
Although the feeling in the air is definitely one of restraint, BrooklynLady and I managed to enjoy quite a feast together on Valentine's day. remembered the distinct hoisin, Chinese spice aromas that I get on the wines of Chambolle-Musigny. Dressner Portfolio Tasting Notes
Burgundy, Jura, and Muscadet.nope. These are piercing wines of great definition, and they can seem like turtles, just their head visible underneath all of that shell. took a brief Burgundy excursion at this point and tasted through the Philippe Pacalet wines. The Chambolle-Musigny was silky and more elegant.

I Learned that I Know Nothing About Wine
There was everything from Grand Cru Burgundy to Barolo to Sancerre ros é. The Burgundies were not so impressive, on the whole. The only one that seemed promising to me was a 1999 Geantet-Pansiot Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru , but even that did not have the same captivating factor as some of the other reds. Who knew.

Skurnik Tasting - my favorites (finally)
Definitely one I'll be on the lookout for! Georges 1er Cru (a red Burgundy for those who don't have a masters in wine labeling) had some nice cherry and forest berry on the nose, together with some minerality & earthiness. then moved on the the Burgundies of Domaine Henri Jouan. Great stuff. really enjoyed it.

    2005 Bourgogne - a Few Favorites
2005 in Burgundy is one of those vintages in which all wines can be great. These grapes are from 50 year old vines in Bon B â tons, the plot in Chambolle-Musigny that gives forth a couple of solid Bourgognes (Barthod, Rion). Layers of cool dark fruits on the palate and a definite mineral streak. And forth.

By the Glass - Just After X-Mas Edition
But without the definition and focus that I have come to expect from my favorite Champagnes. Two holiday Burgundies worth mentioning. The 2000 Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers was a disappointing mess of a wine. I'm in San Diego now at the in-law's place. My second round trip west coast flight of the week.

    WBW # 39 Announced - Silver Burgundy
What do you think of when you hear "Burgundy?" think of Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romaneé, Gevrey-Chambertin, and the storied villages of the Côte de Nuits, and also of Puligny, Meursault, Volnay, and the other superstars of the Côte de Beaune. For many of us, these are not everyday wines. Is this even possible?

Another $10 Wine, This Time French
Like a Cotes de Nuits in Burgundy is made with Pinot grapes from a range of areas within the Cotes de Nuits (possibly including grapes from famous villages such as Chambolle-Musigny), a VDP des Cotes de Gascogne is a wine made from grapes from all over of Gascony. How could I know the treat we were in for the next day?
