Same is true with wine, I would say. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE OCTOBER 6, 2009 Fruits of the Tasting Season The other wines that floored me were the Camille Giroud Burgundies. always thought of Camille Giroud as old-men-in-tweed-blazers Burgundy. Of course the Volnay Taillepieds was very good, and so was Pommard Epenots, but those are much more expensive, and they weren't as easy to understand at this tasting. | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE AUGUST 12, 2008 Overheard in the Wine Storage Warehouse It had been sleeping in a friend's basement cellar, but he sold his house. They don't go for anything else, not even the great Burgundies." This, of course, would jeopardize US/Chinese relations and cause all sorts of problems, maybe even war. Bodegas are compounds - there are barrels rooms of course, but also courtyards with lovely plants and trees, and offices and all sorts of other buildings. Entrance to Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo. Visiting a Sherry Bodega is quite different. MORE >> -
A WINE STORY | MONDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2011 Day 1: Fine & Rare Wine Program waiting for our 7pm dinner and what a fabulous day we have had at the Palais Coburg, viewing multi-million dollar wine cellars and meeting the celebrities of the wine world. Of course, everyone loved the Roumieu -- the 2008 Merryvale raised eyebrows as some asked "is this new vintage 'fine wine' and what is a good definition of fine wine.'". MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3, 2011 Finding the Greatest Pleasure that a Thing has to Offer And secondly he said that the temperature in the room was too cold - it was cellar temperature. They might be told by their host that this is one of the finest examples of Burgundy wine, or of any wine. Of course this is true not only for La Tâche but for a $16 bottle of Muscadet, too. The hams can age for years. Fugedaboudit MORE >> -
A WINE STORY | MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2010 Visit to Domaine de D’Arlot They sky is grey and brooding, as always seems to be the case in Burgundy, yet is romantic and inspiring. This must be what is meant as a “pleasure garden as I could imagine earlier owners taking a stroll in their most elegant clothes – of course with a parasol - perhaps enjoying a picnic. The Cellar.
