Tidal Pool
drank one of these bottles not too long ago and although the wine was very nice, it was nice as a good Chardonnay, not as Le Clos. A few years ago I spent a lot of money on two bottles of Chablis , money that I wish I could have back right now. It's not that I don't like Fèvre's wines, I haven't had enough of them to know for sure. But the

A Commercial Break: Whole Foods and Australia
From an organically grown Chardonnay and a spritzy, bright, aromatic Verdelho-Viognier blend to a dark chocolate cherry Pinot Noir and the continent's best Cabernet Sauvignon, we will have styles for everyone.' + So, I wrote a letter. I received a press release yesterday from Whole Foods about a promotion they're doing with Australia. Like many others in the wine world, I've been puzzled by Whole Food's lack of commitment to the natural wine world, as if what goes into wine is not as important as what goes into food.

Macari Chardonnay Reserve 2007
From the North Fork of Long Island, this Chardonnay shows aromas of lemon rind with tropical fruits, hints of melon and papaya, even a bit of apples. Tags: north fork Chardonnay long island wine Hues of pale yellow color this white wine along with nice acidity and flavors of toast (from the 12 months in oak), smoky vanilla and an expressive nutty, buttery midpalate. Paired well with a risotto with white wine (this one, of course), portobello mushrooms, baby spinach and pancetta.

Macari Early Wine Chardonnay 2009
Macari is one of several rising star wineries in the North Fork, and though somewhat surprising to find this 2009 Chardonnay available on the market while it is still 2009 (we still have four days to go!) Tags: Wine reviews 2009 early macari chardonnay. MACARI

ABCs of Wine: Tasting “Anything But Chardonnay”
Yet for me, ABC also means “Anything But Chardonnay.” Now there is nothing wrong with Chardonnay. Three very interesting white wines, none of them a Chardonnay!

2004 Napa Valley Chardonnays ***
2004 Far Niente Napa Valley Chardonnay *** Yellow gold. Excellent, and to my mind the best Chardonnay in Napa after Kongsgaard. 2004 Peter Michael Mon Plaisir *** Gorgeously pure pale yellow gold. Overt black licorice, anise seed, and gobs of vanilla. Very pure palate, soft and moderately sweet with a very good balance, nice acidity, and moderately long, stoney finish.

WBW #36 - Naked Chardonnay
So this month's theme is Naked Chardonnay , or un-oaked Chardonnay. From the late '80s through the late '90s ( all dates are approximate , and cannot be confirmed ) Chardonnay was generic swill that the masses got when ordering white wine. Just give me a Chardonnay. Happy 3rd anniversary Wine Blogging Wednesday ! And congrats Lenn - you started something truly extraordinary here.

2004 Hanzell Chardonnay ***
I didn't expect to like this 2004 Chardonnay from Hanzell Vineyards as much as I did. In fact, Hanzell's ultra premium chardonnay recently received 96 points from Parker, and was priced at $175/bottle. Hanzell previously reviewed: 2005 Chardonnay *** 1995 Pinot Noir ***

artiCHoke CHicken CHardonnay CHile
Here is Montes Classic Series Chardonnay in a 2007 vintage, from Curico Valley in Chile . Fermented in 75% American Oak and 25% stainless steel with colors of pale golden green, and scents of buttery pineapple and tropical fruits. On the palate is a fresh fruitiness (some lychee and ginger) mixed with vanilla ice cream. While I watch Game 1 of the

Chardonnay Series: Part Two
It was the NYT reference that prompted the gent to burst out with, "I make the kind of Chardonnay Eric Asimov loves!" "That's Inside were three Pinot, ( not yet tasted) and one Chardonnay, from a vineyard I'm somewhat familiar with, Heintz. In December I met up with a friend at the bar at Blue Hill (off of Washington Square Park in the West Village). We were happily enjoying the (comforting as a cup of Lapsang, 2002 Cubillo Rioja from Lopez de Heredia) when a well-fed writer I knew was leaving the restaurant after supping with a 'producer.'

Lenz Gold Label Chardonnay 2005
Done in what winemaker Eric Fry calls the West Coast Style (oaked), this Chardonnay from The North Fork of Long Island is made from grapes grown on mature vines, barrel fermented then aged in French oak barrels. It is rich, heavy and has complex fragrances of banana cream and vanilla as opposed to the the fresh ripe fruit style of the White Label Chardonnay previously tasted. The back label says this one can stand up to richer dishes that might overpower a more delicate wine, and I agree that it's a good food wine. 2

Monterey Wine Country
The focus of the event was Pinot Noir & Chardonnay from about 12-15 Monterey producers, with representatives from four wineries who presented one of their Pinot Noirs.
The About an hour to an hour and a half South of San Francisco lay beautiful Monterey County. Famous for its coastline, golf courses & amazing aquarium, Monterey County is also home to a budding wine country, with 40,000 acres of vines planted.
