Tomatoes Provençal (sort of)
The soils for the white wines supposedly resemble some of the Grand Cru plots of Chablis, with blue marl and limestone. Le Grand Blanc is a blend of 30% Grenache Gris, 30% Chardonnay, 20% Roussanne, 10% Muscat, and 10% Rolle (aka Vermentino). August brings some serious goodness to our local farmer's market. Keep it simple.

Alice Feiring - In Vino Veritas
After the usual floundering around that accompanies this sort of exercise, I pegged it as a reasonable quality Petit Chablis or Chablis AC, perhaps from the Chablisienne cooperative? Voila, it was Clarks Faux Chablis, a wine I had no idea even existed. Main | Hearty Burgundy at Sanford? Do check it out. Yin and yang, right?
