40 years ago, I actually thought Chianti, along with Bordeaux, Burgundy, Medoc, Pomerol etc were types of grapes. Although I try to keep my tasting notes and blog reviews to wines that are much less expensive, I also like to post about wines I enjoyed and this Bordeaux I enjoyed immensely. Silly as it may sound, it reminds me a little of how I sometimes feel about my blog. Then I remember that I am not obligated to try to entertain anyone, I am not beholden to any wine business interests, and that I write this blog because it makes me happy. It's a great way to see good friends usually only accessed by tweets, writing on Facebook walls, and commenting on blogs. met Patrick Comiskey, senior contributor for Wine & Spirits magazine in Burgundy a few years back and am looking forward to seeing him as well as a dozen other new speakers.
