He grew up in Nuits-St.-Georges It’s pretty sexy stuff. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE JULY 7, 2009 Burgundy Thoughts, Episode 42 I recently had the distinct pleasure of participating in the Wine & Spirits Burgundy tasting panel. There were also some reds from the Côte de Beaune during that session, but really it was about 2007 Meursault. 2007 was a classic ( read - normal ) vintage in Burgundy, and the acid levels are high. like Pierre Morey's wines. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE APRIL 21, 2009 By the Glass - Burgundy Complaints Edition It is almost cliché to say that Burgundy is a crap shoot, every bottle a roll of the dice. If you're into Burgundy, you know I'm not kidding or exaggerating. do exactly the same thing when buying Burgundy wine in the $20-40 zone, the range that I tend to live in. But that's because it's true. Yes, laugh with me at that price. | | | | | | | | | -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | MONDAY, MARCH 2, 2009 Thoughts on Points 90 point Beaune wine that costs $37 is the same qualitatively as a 90 point Beaune that retails for $85. 90 points in Beaune is 90 points. Peter turned to me, swirling the wine in his glass, and said " Burgundy Dilettantes would turn their noses at this wine, but I think it's really good." Burgundy Dilittantes - nothing to snub your nose at over here. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2007 Red Burgundy from the Martin Scott Portfolio One thing I want to say right here and right now is that I think you can spend between $30-$60 per bottle and get a case of stupendous 2005 red Burgundy. Yup, I think you can spend about $500 and get a case of beautiful and age worthy Burgundy wine from "The Vintage of the Century." But the Cote de Beaune is the place to go. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, JULY 25, 2007 A Fantastic 2005 Bourgogne 2005 Burgundy is nuts. I've basically accepted the fact that the bulk of my 05 Burgundy will be from the Cote de Beaune. refuse to sit this out though, this 05 Burgundy craze. Honestly, if you see this wine and you're interested in dipping a toe into the 05 Burgundy pool, you should just buy a few bottles. MORE >>
