WHY WINE BLOG | MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2009 A Day In The Finger Lakes 3 - "Deck The Halls" It was at Atwater that I found the best wine of the day, the 2007 Syrah. Beaujolais style German wine that is produced in the Finger Lakes by only Fulkerson Winery. Always nice to return to the Finger Lakes with Shirley and friends for a day of wine tasting and stocking up the wine fridge for the holidays. 14 (the west side). MORE >> -
WHY WINE BLOG | WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2012 E. Guigal Gigondas 2007 There have been some I have enjoyed, like Beaujolais, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône and some Bordeaux and one in particular that I had a few years ago, a Gigondas. Alcohol levels are typically at least 14% now in wines from those places, regularly hitting 15%. Why has this happened? Anyone want in? MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | SUNDAY, MARCH 29, 2009 Brooklynguy's $20 and Under Case It's been a while since I've liked this wine as much as some of the others in the impressive Dressner Beaujolais stable, but the 2007 is a truly lovely wine. Fresh, ripe, snappy, just a great Beaujolais. Syrah, and Grenache. 75% Syrah, some Grenache, Cinsault, and Mourvedre make up the balance. This wine ages well too. MORE >>
