We enjoyed a Termes Tempranillo 2006 from Spain, 3 Piedmont reds, and an Umbrian Sangiovese. feeling more like you're in someone's home. It's a small cozy place with brick walls, tin ceilings, a dark wooden bar that seats about 10 and several tables that seat another 15 or so with standing room for maybe another 15. Went out to a wine bar tonight. had an Australian Shiraz (too extracted & "sweet") and a Sancere (nice & crisp) while my date had a Tempranillo (better than my Shiraz) and a Vespiolo (Italian white - first time I heard of it and while it wasn't my speed the date enjoyed it). We became fascinated by the numerous small patches of old, gnarly Tempranillo vines, planted right between the endless brick, stucco and concrete winery buildings. Here we are thirty or forty years later and they are winning awards and being seen more and more in wine shops and wine bars across the country.
