    Pierre Loti Wine Bar
Named for the 19th century, world wanderer and writer, Pierre Loti, this New York locale (at 17th Street and Irving Place) offers a rotating selection of wines. Last night, Cathy and I were fortunate enough to experience a menu that offered just what we needed to study for our IWC exam–tasting flights that included four

    Xai Xai-South African Wine Bar
Last night at dusk I slipped into Xai Xai on West 51st–a dim lit wood centric South African wine bar. At six, the small bar was nearly full, but the tables were empty. I sat by the window without a draft, in warm light that was readily absorbed by a dark slate floor. With brick

    Vinovino, A Tribeca Enoteca
After scoring a sweet pair of boots at Century 21, I headed up West Broadway to Franklin, where I found the  Vinovino Wine Bar Wine Shop. By the time I left at around seven, the bar was a little livelier, but far At a few minutes past five, I practically had the place to myself.

    Casellulu Wine & Cheese Bar
At six o’clock on Thursday, Casellulu Wine and Cheese Bar was full beyond capacity with members of the button-down after work crowd. After putting our name on a list and leaving for a drink elsewhere, Farrel, Ellen, and I returned when called by the host, and were promptly sat. Within the first ten minutes, I

Emilion September 04, 2008 I was deep in a New York City-sized meltdown after realizing I booked into a St. That’s when I found Chez Claude, a nearby w-fi equipped wine bar (there is a God) pouring Tarlant Brut Zero for about $10 a glass. The Fleury estate is located in the village of Courteron in the Côte des Bar, a region of Champagne where Pinot Noir is particularly successful. With distribution blanketing New York like that, it's easy to understand why Perrier-Jouet sued Fleury a few years back over the similarity of the two houses' ros é labels.

speak of the monthly online community wine tasting and sharing event created by Lenn, the New York wine guy at Lenndevours. Behind the bar, hanging on the wall, there was an inverted bottle of wine with a contraption attached to the neck that allowed you to turn a spigot and pour an ounce at a time. Four years.

Interview with Vito Polosa of Aroma Kitchen & Winebar
Since moving to New York, Alexandra and Vito have seen the same passion for food and drink but found the experience is rarely savored or remembered here. Aroma is a study in contrasts: The urban/rustic interior features exposed brick, a dark wood bar with natural edges juxtaposed with mirrors framed with brushed steel.

We had out first "man date" at Momofuku Ssam Bar , based on the New York Times' wine guru - Eric Asimov's recommendation. I recently reconnected with an old high school friend on that greatest killer of time: Facebook. Soft and light on the palate and only mildly sweet with a touch of adicity, this went well with oysters.

The Puzelat brothers' wines are an institution at natural wine bars in France, and are firmly entrenched in the vocabulary of natural wine aficionados here in New York. The new vintage is 2006, so you're not going to find this now, but it's a gem each year. They buzz with energy, some say "wildness." Everything is good.
