BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008 Brooklynguy's Notes on Recession Wines Here are some thoughts on the other other wines I tasted: I love the 2006 Cassagnoles wine from the southwest of France, a rich, zesty, and well balanced blend of Gros Manseng, Ugni Blanc, and Colombard. The Kuentz-Bas Alsace Blanc is good too. First, I think that it is absolutely possible to find great wine at this price point. MORE >> -

BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2008 Friday Night Bubbles In my self taught learn-by-drinking Alsace wine course, thus far I've found that my two favorite producers are Dirler and Boxler. Dirler's Cr é mant is all Pinot Blanc , and is a more full bodied and rich wine. 2005 Dirler Cr é mant d'Alsace Brut , $23, Chadderdon Selections. Both producers' new releases are non-dosage wines.
