    Next is the Aligote 09, very refreshing, and then the 09 St. Jeanne-Marie De Champs is the owner of Domaines et Saveurs Collection and works with several Burgundian producers to bring their wines to the United States. The day begins at Domaine Langoureau in Saint Aubin, a white wine region with two small towns, Saint-Aubin and Gamay.

    was at a dinner with Peter Wasserman a few weeks ago and he told me that Aligoté used to be 40-50% of Burgundy plantings, even in the 1er and Grand Cru plots. So, is there something happening here - are Burgundy producers making better Aligoté, or are these wines still best as Kir fodder? Honestly, who drinks Aligoté?

Domaine Michel Lafarge 2007 Aligote Raisins Dores I am just crazy about the Lafarge wines these days and this Aligote is not the fierce, edgy monster but more gentle and sunny and chamomile, in stilletos.     By the Glass - Wines that I Don't Like Edition
    Bouzeron is the appellation created to showcase the Aligot é grape. Wines made from Aligot é should be crisp and lean and fresh. can't imagine that the wine was supposed to be aged - it's Aligot é for goodness sake. But many people only write about the wines they like. He really should do that from time to time.

    BrooklynLady and I hosted, and we settled on the theme of Burgundy, in honor of our recent trip. BrooklynLady and I prepared a 5 course dinner and everyone was asked to bring a mature red Burgundy. happen to have some cassis lying around the house and will investigate later today whether or not this Aligote does the job right.

    used a 2005 La Buxynoise Bourgogne Aligote , $13 that my pal Adam served at brunch with bagels and lox. Aligote is the other white wine grape in Burgundy, and is great for everyday drinking, especially with escargots or seafood. And the Aligote went great with dinner Soups made with your own stock just taste better.

    Back to Burgundy: Two More Restaurants and. the Wine of the Trip
    We went there for lunch on our last day in Burgundy and although we had a very nice time, on this occasion Gourmet got it wrong. Sure, it would have been E40, but that version included tasting only 5 wines, the entry-level Aligote and Bourgogne wines. wonderful meal with amazing wine for our last meal in Burgundy asked Msr.

    Burgundy Trip Continued: Domaine Jean-Philippe Fichet
    For some reason, it didn't occur to me that our appointments might be with producers who focus on making white wine - BrooklynLady and I are Pinot lovers, and are basically ignorant about Burgundy whites. This was for both of us the most profound tasting experience with white Burgundy and Chardonnay in general up until this point.
