While there were winemakers in attendence, many of them seemed disinterested in speaking with the guests. new record high for me. | | | | | | | | | -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | FRIDAY, JANUARY 4, 2008 Brooklyn Wine Bars: Black Mountain Wine House asked if I could taste the 2005 Vinedo de los Vientos Tannat from Uruguay, $8, kind of in homage to Joe who likes Tannat, and they brought me a nice little pour. BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2008 Jenny & Francois Follow Up Whatever the reason, if I had to choose right now I would select this wine as the value red of 2008. And this is Malbec we're talking about, with a little bit (5%) of Tannat thrown in. I was very much impressed with the Jenny & Francois portfolio , so much so that I decided to buy a few and taste them at home with dinner. MORE >> -

The following is an interview with Keith Beavers, co-owner of In Vino Wine Bar & Restaurant and Alphabet City Wine Co. Keith also writes a blog called East Village Wine Geek. MORE >> -
VIGNA UVA VINO | MONDAY, MAY 19, 2008 Domaine Monte De Luz Carquera Tannat 2007 Uruguay Domaine Monte De Luz Carquera Tannat 2007. Uruguay and Tannat. Dark ruby/violet in color and full bodied, this 100% tannat is juicy and full of aromas like plums, blackberries and smoky tar, laden with flavors of spice and jam. two firsts for me, but I was pleasantly surprised. soft and lush, with smooth tannins.
